Killington Fire and Rescue
Our History Since 1955
In 1955, the Sherburne Volunteer Fire Department​ was formed as a volunteer department. Sherburne Volunteer Fire Department moved from a private organization to a municipal department in 2022, with the first full-time paid staff starting in January of 2023 under the name Killington Fire and Rescue Services.
A New Killington Fire Station
In 2020, Killington Fire and Rescue moved into our new 14,000-square-foot station. Our Station is shared with the Killington Police Department and has a community room for our town's citizens to use for various reasons.

Our new station features:
- A state-of-the-art air filtration system in the apparatus bays
- 5 bays for fire and rescue apparatus
- 900 square foot multi-purpose community room
- Hose tower
- Offices
- Locker rooms with showers
